You are invited to be a part of the "Growing Our Own" Yuma & Imperial Valley Initiative by participating in the second "Growing Our Own," Agricultural & Life Sciences Regional Workforce Symposium II, focusing on future educational workforce demands and innovative growth opportunities in Agriculture & Life Science.

The Symposium will occur February 23, 2022, 1 pm-5 pm (offered in both face-to-face and zoom) in conjunction with the annual Southwest Summit, which will take place at Arizona Western College in Yuma.

The "Growing Our Own" Agriculture & Life Sciences Regional Workforce  Symposium will include presentations and discussions on new technology integration in agriculture and the skilled and educated labor these new technologies will require, characteristics of the Generation' Z' workforce, agricultural futurism, agriculture, and healthy food impact on health systems, successful industry/higher education collaboration models, opportunities for funding, collaboration, and other support from the United States Department of Agriculture-NRCS.

 

Who should attend? The “Growing Our Own” initiative and four symposiums are for STEM talent consumers, STEM talent providers, and all interested in economic development and developing a sustainable ecosystem of innovation in our region. The “Growing Our Own” initiative is a platform designed to bring all of us together working as a team toward a common goal vs. individually.
