Calcium, magnesium, and sulfur are abundant in the agricultural systems of the Colorado River Region and other areas of Arizona. Thus, no fertilization is needed as crop nutritional needs are fully met through natural occurrences of these nutrients. Sulfur products are occasionally applied as soil amendments, primarily to mitigate sodium risk (43), but not for direct nutritional purposes.
